Política de preservación digital

Eduweb Journal is committed to safeguarding its published content in the long term, ensuring that both researchers and the general public can access its valuable academic production at any time.

This digital preservation policy establishes the guidelines and procedures necessary to protect our digital assets. By utilizing advanced technologies such as the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) system and DOI identifiers, and by implementing regular backups, we aim to mitigate risks associated with technological obsolescence and data loss, while ensuring conservation, restoration, and uninterrupted long-term access.

Digital preservation is not just a technical responsibility but also a commitment to our authors, readers, and the scientific community at large. Through this policy, Eduweb Journal reaffirms its commitment to open access and transparency, ensuring that shared discoveries and knowledge remain accessible and relevant in the future.

To achieve its digital preservation objectives, Eduweb Journal employs various technologies.

PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

Eduweb Journal is supported by the OJS system and complies with the requirements of the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which enables long-term preservation of its articles. To achieve this, PKP PN utilizes LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) technology, which provides a decentralized preservation system distributed among participating libraries. This allows for the creation of permanent journal archives for conservation, restoration, and uninterrupted perpetual access.

DOI

Eduweb Journal guarantees the long-term preservation and accessibility of its contents through the use of the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) service and secure storage on our servers. The DOI system ensures that each published article has a unique and persistent identifier, facilitating its location and citation over time. Additionally, all journal files are stored on secure servers, ensuring their integrity and continuous availability for the academic community and the general public.

Backups

As part of its digital preservation processes, Eduweb Journal performs daily backups of the OJS platform through a maintenance plan that includes files, issues, and articles, which are stored on secure servers.

As a complementary task, the journal’s issues and articles are also safeguarded on external NAS hard drives (cloud storage).
